A Home for Future Generations is a commissioned public art project developed in collaboration with artist Julia Csekö for the City of Framingham and the Town of Natick, funded through the Mass Save Community Education Grant Program. Comprising two site-specific installations, one created for each city, the work transforms the familiar architecture of a home into a visual narrative about climate action and sustainable living. Inspired by research from MIT’s Sustainable Design Lab, the installations explore how energy efficiency upgrades and thoughtful design choices can reduce carbon emissions and move communities toward a more resilient future. 
Created through more than 30 community workshops, the project invited residents to paint hundreds of wooden shingles that became part of the structure, while local elementary school students contributed drawings that informed the accompanying murals. By bringing together scientific research, artistic collaboration, and community participation, A Home for Future Generations transforms public art into a collective vision for climate action.
